Behind the Scenes
Aside from all the glitter, a major portion of the Real Live Relic Hunter Team's production often goes unnoticed...and that is the subject of this section. Consider the building blocks of a house as an analogy. Stone upon stone is set, then the frame, walls, roof, and finally the cosmetics. Most people never see its "blueprints" or can even fathom an understanding of its construction, but are exposed only to the finished product.
Let's take a schematic tour of the "blueprints" for the Real Live Relic Hunter Team!
Let's take a schematic tour of the "blueprints" for the Real Live Relic Hunter Team!
IDEA "The Sky is the Limit" as the saying goes. Exploration and discovery begins with a notion. Call it an "epiphany" of sorts, an impulse to seek out an artifact, long lost and revered, perhaps buried in some deep remote valley cavern, last seen by human eyes many, many years ago. The Real Live Relic Hunter Team sits at a "round table", meaning all of its members share ideas equally and evaluate them as such. Just as each member of a rock 'n roll band plays their instrument individually so as to collectively create a song, so too does each member of the RLRH Team in proposing their individual ideas in an effort to collectively create an exploration and discovery agenda.
TEAM CONSULTATION After an idea is proposed, the entire Real Live Relic Hunter Team offer their pros and cons. Nine minds brainstorming an idea is far better than one. What relic are we targeting? How difficult do we anticipate the effort? What are the safety issues? These are merely a few of the many questions initially asked by the Team as we evaluate an exploration and discovery potential. While "Nay" decisions are discarded, "Yea" decisions are advanced to the next step in the process.
RESEARCH The first hard core step after an idea is approved is the research process. The Real Live Relic Hunter Team is staffed by an Ancient Site Researcher, who uses his expertise in bombarding the idea with solid backing in the form of mostly computer-based research. The potential site's history, background, inhabitants, culture, building structure, transactions, public records, and any peripheral information is gathered into a CR7, a comprehensive report summarizing the salient finds of the research process. In the event that a question arises concerning the legality of a potential exploration attempt, the RLRH Team will consider the appropriate legal parameters.
SCHEDULING "Mark your calendars" is a familiar phrase communicated among the RLRH Team. We try to schedule exploration attempts to best fit the entire Team. In addition, the Media world is alerted and coordinated with to best fit their schedule also. Our venue is basically a global one, including exploration and discovery attempts in our own neighborhoods as well as far away destinations across the planet. A large portion of our international component is greatly dependant on support from sponsors and any donations made by everyday citizens.
THE "PREP" Our gear is gathered. Phone calls are made. Loved ones are informed...that may be pushing it a bit! You get the idea. In short, the RLRH squad is ready to go! Depending on the destination, our crew equips itself appropriately, making the necessary improvisions and modifications to their routine to best serve the Team. Rain, snow, sun, or wind...our band of bravado takes on everything in a bold attempt to discover ancient relics the world over. And we do it gracefully.
EQUIPMENT CHECK Final rehearsal of the Team's grip is assessed. Doublechecking gear and considering extreme situations, safety nets, and survival mode. You never know! Have you ever flown in an airplane? If so, you are entrusting your life to a mechanical device. The Real Live Relic Hunter Team takes the extra step of ensuring all of its gear is functioning properly and can withstand adverse conditions.
TRAVEL "Flew in from Miami Beach BOAC, didn't get to bed last night. On the way the paper bag was on my knee, man I had a dreadful flight. I'm back in the U.S.S.R. You don't know how lucky you are boy..." Such may be the case indeed for the RLRH Team at times, as the famous lyrics of the Beatles convey. However, most of the team's travel is actually quite enjoyable. Whereas destinations themselves often serve as the pinnacle for adventure seekers, for each member of the Real Live Relic Hunter Team, the actual journey itself to that destination is of merit. Slashing our way through the Brazilian jungle with a machete while dodging poisenous dart frogs, piranhas, and snakes enroute to the secluded hamlet of Manaus and the last known tribe of head shrinkers certainly is grounds for making a movie in itself!
ON-SITE FINALIZATION "Don't wait until the last minute!" as RLRH Team Director Andrew Ostrowski's father always said. So true, as our Team depends on its earlier run system of checks and balances to ensure the full scope of its ability. Batteries juiced, flashlights working, lens caps off. Taking a deep breath, the Team is ready to rock 'n roll.
EXPLORATION & DISCOVERY Finally, the culmination of the Real Live Relic Hunter Team's efforts. Beginning with an idea and cascading itself through various checks and balances, the Team sets foot on the actual site. At times, the Team breaks into subteams of two or three members, exploring different areas and embarking on the discovery process. Each subteam is equipped with handheld two-way radios to communicate. Depending on the target relic we are seeking, exploration attempts may vary in intensity and even time of day. Most are explored by daylight, however, some require the darkness of night, especially those pertaining to our eXPERIMENTAL section. Through thick and thin, the Real Live Relic Hunter Team is proud and dedicated to bring to light all manner of ancient and forgotten artifacts, to invite the public eye into this lost world, to partner with sponsors and supporters in showcasing these discoveries, and to revel in the satisfaction of doing so.

eXPERIMENTAL
eXPERIMENTAL. Not your typical crash course in Parapsychology 101. The Real Live Relic Hunter Team will take relic hunting into yet another realm...that of the spiritual. Consider the typical relic. This is something tangible and apparent. Basically an artifact which served its owners well, was lost and forgotten about for eons, then re-discovered and acknowledged in life again. Should not the same be applied to us? The average corner "Joe" would agree you see, because statistics tell us that over 90% of us believe in the afterlife. Yet, we do virtually nothing to foster this belief. Once we're out of sight, we're out of mind so to speak.
But are we? Increasing evidence in the field of the paranormal seems to confirm that residual entities, which arguably are the "ultimate" forms of relics, actually exist and are among us regularly. Discovering a typical relic physically hidden under dirt and debris is one thing. Now, the Real Live Relic Hunter Team will catapult into the unexplored territory of exploring valid claims of paranormal activity in hopes of metaphysically uncovering lost and forgotten entities. Let's be reminded of our history, when such figures as Jesus, Gandhi, and more recently Edgar Cayce spoke about this very real realm of existence, with plenty of evidence in support!
Equipped with paranormal detecting gear and open minds, the eXPERIMENTAL branch of the Real Live Relic Hunter Team will investigate valid claims of paranormal activity, uncovering the often ignored and misunderstood metaphysical world of spirits, hauntings, and residual entities, which ironically we all are a part of. True relics in their most salient form!
If you are experiencing what you think may be paranormal activity in your home or office, feel free to contact the Real Live Relic Hunter Team for an initial consultation. Upon evaluation, our Team will advise the best course of action and potentially offer our services. We're here for you!
